The Tanabe Festival, which has a history of over 450 years,is an annual festival held at the Cockfighting Shrine on July 24th and 25th every year, and it attracts a huge crowd throughout the city.

This is Tanabe's representative festival, where kasahoko floats called ``Okasa'' are paraded through the town, similar to Kyoto's Gion Festival, from merchant towns in the former castle town.
At night, they are pulled to Aizu Bridge near the mouth of the Aizu River, and the sight of beautiful lights reflecting on the river's surface is a must-see.
