~ Climb Akita Komagatake, a famous mountain with beautiful flowers, with a guide who knows everything about its charms ~
This is a special experience, where you can climb the beautiful mountain where various alpine plants bloom in abundance, while listening to local guides who are experts on the mountain and tell you about the seasonal highlights and vegetation. There are two courses to choose from, beginner and intermediate, and the best time to see the various alpine plants is from June to August, and the best time to see the autumn leaves is from September to October. We will also provide a rice ball bento for lunch on the mountain.

Kakunodate is overflowing with things to see, from the cherry blossoms to the architecture of the residences, so sightseeing with a guide feels many times more fulfilling. The warmth of the Akita dialect that can be sensed here and there is also the charm that only a local guide can provide.
The Uchimachi (Samurai Residences) Course is covered in deep groves and lined with samurai residences. We will guide you through the samurai town area, centered around Omotemachi and Higashi-Shorakucho. The Sotomachi (Merchants and Artisans’ District) Course is an area where the town layout has hardly changed in over 390 years. We will show you another side of Kakunodate that is less well known.
