The World Heritage Site "Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine and Nachisan Seiganto-ji Temple" in Nachikatsuura-cho has been selected in the "Places to Visit" category of "The World's Greatest Places 2025" published by TIME, a leading American media outlet.
KAMENOI HOTEL NACHI KATSUURA is also an ideal base for sightseeing along the Kumano Kodo trail. It will be renovated and reopened in July 2024, and you can enjoy ocean view Guest rooms and natural Hot springs with the Kumano Nada Sea right in front of you.
The Food served are "washoku" (traditional Japanese cuisine), which was registered as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2013. In addition to a course of "raw tuna" with a chewy texture that can only be tasted in Nachikatsuura, you can also choose "shojin ryori" (traditional Japanese cuisine), which is prepared using only plant-based ingredients without meat, fish, or eggs.
Breakfast is optional, and we also offer a guided tour plan of Katsuura Fishing Port, which boasts the largest catch of fresh tuna (longline fishing method) in Japan. After the tour, you can enjoy an "original breakfast" that is only available to guests staying at Kamenoi Hotel. You can savor a breakfast of chewy fresh tuna while gazing at the ocean that spreads out before you.
