Kumano Kodo Daimonzaka
Kumano Kodo is a general term for the pilgrimage routes used for ``Kumano Pilgrimage'' that have continued since the Heian period. Although many roads have disappeared these days, Daimonzaka is known for retaining its original appearance. The moss-covered stone steps that extend for about 640 meters and the dense trees decorate the quiet space.

Nachikatsuura-choNachi Falls
Nachi Falls is one of Japan's top three waterfalls and boasts the highest drop in Japan at 133 meters.
It has been revered by people since ancient times as a sacred object of Hitaki Shrine, a separate shrine of Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine.

Nachikatsuura-choKumano Nachi Taisha Shrine
Along with Kumano Hayatama Taisha and Kumano Hongu Taisha, it is one of the Kumano Sanzan, the head shrine of Kumano Shrines.
It flourished as the center of the Kumano faith, attracting the faith of many people since ancient times.

It is one of the Kumano Sanzan (Nachi, Hayatama, and Motomiya), which is the head shrine of 3,000 Kumano shrines nationwide.
The largest Nagi tree in Japan is said to have been hand-planted by Shigemori Taira, and is considered a sacred tree.

Nachikatsuura-cho
Nachisan Seigantoji Temple
It is the first temple of Saigoku No. 33, and was originally a Shinto and Buddhist syncretic training hall centered around Nachi Falls, but it was separated into Seigantoji Temple and Nachi Taisha Shrine in the early Meiji period. The main hall, which was rebuilt by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, retains many of the characteristics of the Momoyama period.

This is a historic temple where the strange custom of Fudaraku Tokai, which was the subject of a short story by Yasushi Inoue, was held. There is also a replica of the Fudaraku Tokai ferry on the grounds.

Katsuura fishing port boasts the best raw tuna landings (longline fishing method) in Japan. The sight of so many tuna lined up at the ``auction market'' held early in the morning is a sight to behold.

This facility is located at Nachikatsuura Fishing Port, which boasts the best raw tuna landing (longline fishing method) in Japan, and is equipped with food and drink booths selling local ingredients and a direct sales corner selling specialty products.

Nachikatsuura-choBlue Beach Nachi
It is the largest swimming beach in the prefecture and has been certified as one of only 12 out of the 100 best swimming beaches selected by the Ministry of the Environment. The vast beach, which stretches for approximately 800 meters, is crowded with many swimmers every year. (Shower, toilet, changing room free of charge)

Nachikatsuura-choKi no Matsushima tour
You can enjoy ``Kinomatsushima'', a group of over 130 islands of various sizes scattered around Katsuura Port, on a pleasure boat. Please board the boat from the sightseeing pier near Katsuura Fishing Port.

An island with a shrine called ``White Snake Benten'' that is said to bring good luck with money. You can cross to the island during low spring tide. Recently, it has become popular as a power spot.

The whale museum is the largest in the world. Approximately 1,000 valuable materials related to whale ecology and whaling are on display. There are whale and dolphin shows, feeding experiences, and petting activities such as touching the dolphins.

Taiji-choKujirahama Beach
This beach is popular for its limited-time event where whales from the Whale Museum come to visit. Twice a day for 15 minutes, you can swim with the whales that come out of water tank.
