Moss Walk
~A story of Oirase hidden in a world of 1cm~
Explore the miniature world of nature in Oirase, where approximately 300 species of moss adorn the landscape, with a magnifying glass in hand. This guided tour brings you closer to the Oirase forest through the lens of moss.
Approximately 300 species of mosses grow naturally in the Oirase Gorge, and in 2013, it was selected as one of "Japan's Valuable Moss Forests" by the Bryological Society of Japan. The forest, where rocks, fallen trees, and even tree trunks are covered in moss, is truly a natural moss garden!
When you examine such moss with a magnifying glass, a mysterious and profound world unfolds that you wouldn't notice with the naked eye.
While paying attention to the small details of nature that we usually overlook, we will take our time to enjoy the connection between moss and the forest, and the unique natural charm of Oirase, together with an expert guide.
