Nihondaira/Nihondaira Dream Terrace

Located in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, this beautiful hillside area is known as one of the best observation spots in Japan. Fuji, Suruga Bay, within Shizuoka City, and the Izu Peninsula. Please fully enjoy the four-round view represented by Mt. Fuji, which shows its beautiful appearance in each of the four seasons.

Miho no Matsubara

Miho no Matsubara, where you can also enjoy Mt. Fuji, is home to about 30,000 pine trees on a 7km stretch of coastline, and in one corner is Hagoromo no Matsu, which is known for the legend of the maiden. The Shizuoka City Miho Matsubara Cultural Creation Center (Miho Shirube) will open in 2019, and you can see various exhibits.

Yaizu Fish Center

A shopping spot that mainly sells seafood and seafood landed from local fishing ports such as Yaizu Port, Ogawa Port, and Oigawa Port. There are approximately 70 stores, and there are plenty of Food as well as shopping.

Sumatakyo Dream Suspension Bridge

This is the most popular tourist spot on the Oi River, known for its spectacular views. You can cross a 90m suspension bridge over the beautiful blue dam lake. The beautiful color of the lake surface is said to be the result of a physical phenomenon caused by the highly transparent water.

Oigawa Railway

The EL Express and Japan's only apt-type train are popular for nostalgic train trips that take you through the tea plantations of Kawane and the spectacular scenery of Okuoi. There are many attractive spots where you can enjoy the nature and Hot springs of the four seasons, such as "Oku-Oi Lake Station" floating on the lake, the unexplored "Dream Suspension Bridge", and the "Kawane Hot springs" where you can see the train.

Kunozan Toshogu Shrine

It is a historic shrine known as the oldest of the Toshogu Shrines dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu. It is possible to access Kunozan Toshogu Shrine from Nihon-daira by ropeway while enjoying the scenery, and it is a popular route for tourists.

Yaizu PORTERS

This complex was created by renovating an old fishing equipment warehouse located along the inner harbor of Yaizu-shi. The facility includes a food court, a community space that serves as a hub for interaction, a sauna, and a co-working space.

Recommended cherry blossom walking spots

Yaizu-shi There are many scenic spots for cherry blossoms inside!
Around late March ~ early April, "Somei Yoshino" blooms in various parts of the city.
(1) Yaizu-shi A 1.4-kilometer row of cherry blossom trees along the Takakusa River in the Sakamoto area.
On March 22, 2026 (Sun) ~ April 4, 2026 (Sat) 19:00 ~ 21:00, "Sakamoto Illumination" will be held, and you can enjoy the cherry blossoms shining at night for about 400 meters along the Takakusa River (left bank) on the north Yaizu side of the Sakamoto bus stop.

(2) [Along the Sumiredai Kiya River] "Along the Kiya River from Super Takoshige to the vicinity of Nishimatsubara Housing Complex" about 1.5 km.
In 1968, about 700 Somei Yoshino trees were planted by the hands of the local youth association. It blooms magnificently every year to cover the river, and is a famous cherry blossom spot in Yaizu.

3. Cherry blossom trees along the Kuroishi River
Approximately 1.5km along the Kuroishi River from Kuroishi Sakai Bridge on the border with Fujieda City to Kuroishi Elementary School on National Route 150.
The cherry blossoms that bloom freely from both banks towards the river are impressive, and the cherry blossom petals reflected on the surface of the river often form flower rafts that float down the river, creating a magnificent sight.
