Hanazawa-no-Sato is a mountain village of about 30 houses in a mountain valley, and in 2014 it was the first area in Shizuoka to be designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the national government. A new Staying plan has been introduced that allows you to experience a guided tour that will make you feel as if you have traveled back in time. A shuttle bus from the hotel is also available for your convenience.

Experience grilling bonito on straw

Yaizu-shi in Shizuoka is one of the top cities in terms of the amount of bonito landed. In this "town of bonito, Yaizu," you can actually experience and taste bonito straw grilling. After observing a craftsman prepare a whole bonito, participants will grill the bonito themselves over a rice straw flame, and at the end will be able to taste the freshly grilled bonito.
