A local Kumahachi statue painted by local high school students has been unveiled!

A statue of our founder, Kumahachi Aburaya, dressed in a local design created by a young sensibility, welcomes you in the hotel lobby.
KAMENOI HOTEL nationwide are working as an "art project" to have local high school students paint the brand new "Kumahachi Statue" on canvas in colors typical of the region.
The KAMENOI HOTEL YAIZU "Kumahachi Statue" was designed and painted by the art department of Shizuoka Yaizu Central High School, and returned to the hotel on January 31, 2026. Please see the details of the local design "Kumahachi statue" drawn by a young sensibility.

Yaizu The design is based on the motif of fish caught in Suruga Bay and deep-sea fish in Suruga Bay. On the right arm, I made a three-dimensional representation of a squid entangled with clay that has been polished until smooth. The scale in the center of the jacket represents the depth of the ocean, providing a visual introduction to the fish that inhabit each of their depths.
Moray eels on the back and tuna on the left arm. In addition to the design of the pedestal with the image of waves and fish, the letter "U" in YAIZU is expressed with cherry blossom shrimp.
