Welcoming Tea House, Kumano Primeval Forest Lounge

The lobby lounge has a relaxing atmosphere with a ceramic wall that resembles Nachi Falls and a moss terrarium that evokes the Kumano Kodo trail. The lighting is decorated with the traditional Japanese pattern "tsunagi", which represents repeated change and prosperity, as well as connections and ties with people. From the lobby lounge, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Nachi Bay over the dining restaurant, which changes depending on the time of day.

Upon entering the hotel, you will be greeted by a teahouse that seems to stand in the middle of a forest. At the Nachi-Kumano Library, you can learn more about the history and culture of the area while sipping coffee, and it is also a great place to prepare for a pilgrimage. The entertainment lounge and game corner are equipped with Showa-era retro games, making the hotel a place where you can spend your time to the fullest.

Guest rooms that add color to your trip

Three types of Guest rooms have been created, including Guest rooms that blend in with the ocean view outside the window and rooms that evoke the Kumano Kodo trail.
Some of Guest rooms were primarily Japanese-style rooms, have been remodeled into Japanese-Western style rooms with beds. Guest rooms overlooking Nachi Bay feature original art on the wall with a motif of the sea of Katsuura. Other Guest rooms feature murals that evoke the cedar and camphor trees of the approach to the shrine, giving the room a mysterious interior reminiscent of the Kumano Kodo trail. The moment you enter the room, the interior will add even more color to your trip.

Katsuura Fishing Port is the number one fishing port in Japan for the amount of raw tuna landed. We offer dishes centered around fresh raw tuna while you enjoy the spectacular view of Nachi Bay.
