Yuze Valley

The promenade is within a 5-minute walk from our hotel. The 4.6 km long road from Yuze Hot springs to Hachimantai Azukizawa is lined with strangely shaped cliffs on both banks of the Yoneshiro River, and the beautiful, colorful valley spreads out. *Currently, the section from Sasanowatari to Daichihira is closed to traffic. A walking map of Yuze Valley is also available at the front desk. On a sunny day, an early morning walk is refreshing and great! After a walk, refresh yourself in the hot Hot springs and enjoy breakfast!

Akita dog village

Odate City's tourism exchange facility, "Akita Inu no Sato," has an Akita Dog Museum where you can learn about the characteristics and history of Akita dogs in a fun way, an Akita Dog Exhibition Room where you can see cute Akita dogs, and a souvenir corner where you can purchase Akita dog goods and Odate specialties.

Hachimantai Dragon Eye

This is a fantastic view that can be seen near the top of Hachimantai, which straddles Akita and Iwate. The mysterious eyes created by snow and ice only open when various natural conditions such as the swamp, the sky, and the weather match. The best time to see them is from late May to early June.

Historic Site Osarizawa Mine

The remains of a mine that is said to have existed since the Nara period has been turned into a tourist spot after it was closed! You can also tour the cool mine shafts, pan for gold, and make a natural stone kaleidoscope. There is also play equipment outside, making it a facility where children can play.

Odate/Kosaka Railway Rail Bike

Ride a bicycle-powered "rail bike" along the tracks of the former Kosaka Railway, which is now abandoned. Every time you row with your own feet, the vibrations that are transmitted to your feet will give you a new sensation! This activity is sure to please not only railway fans but also children.

Korakukan

Japan's oldest playhouse, built in 1910 as a welfare facility for the Kosaka Mine, is a nationally designated important cultural property. The building is characterized by a fusion of Japanese and Western architecture, with the exterior looking like a Western-style building and the interior typical of a Japanese-style playhouse. Performances are still being held, and you can tour the facility, including the dressing room and backstage, when the performance is not in progress. (Free guide included)
