Damako nabe is a local dish representative of Akita Prefecture, a hot pot dish made with chicken bone-based soup, vegetables, chicken, and damako, which are ball-shaped dumplings made from rice mashed in a mortar and pestle.
Towada bara yaki (roasted pork belly)
Barayaki is a local delicacy that is said to have originated in Misawa City, Aomori, about 60 years ago and spread to the southern region, including Towada City. It is a dish of beef belly and a large amount of onion seasoned with a sweet and spicy soy sauce-based sauce and fried on a hot plate.
Inaniwa udon
Inaniwa udon is one of the three major udon noodles in Japan. It is a flat, thin noodle made by hand, characterized by its firmness and smooth texture. It is thicker than hiyamugi (cold wheat noodles), has a smooth texture in the mouth, and goes down smoothly.
Iwaizumi Yogurt
Iwaizumi yogurt is made using carefully selected raw milk and is fermented at low temperatures of around 33-35℃ for a long period of time, giving it a chewy, unique consistency and flavor.
