An art project that embodies the scenery and spirit of Asahi-shi

KAMENOI HOTEL across the country are successively installing "Kumahachi statues" and are running an art project in which students from local high school art clubs are creating designs that are unique to their local area.

KAMENOI HOTEL KUJUKURI had members of the Chiba Prefectural Sosa High School Art Club design and paint the statue, which will be unveiled at the hotel on July 12, 2025, with an unveiling ceremony and local market event.

The theme is "A seaside town overflowing with greenery." The charm of Asahi-shi is condensed into the design!

At the unveiling ceremony, the high school students spoke about the attention to detail that went into the design and their memories of creating it.
The design expresses the bustle and brightness of Asahi-shi through color, and incorporates three key points.
・A green jacket with an agricultural theme
・Sea-related industrial products are symbolically placed
・The "Hot springs mark" representing KAMENOI HOTEL is casually used

"By the time it was finished, the statue had become like a mascot for the art room," said one student.
Although he felt a little sad to see the statue being transported, when he saw the statue of Kumahachi displayed at the hotel, he said with a proud look on his face, "I'm really glad I was able to participate."
"I would be happy if this Kumahachi statue can convey the charm of Asahi-shi to many people," he said, his words overflowing with love for his hometown and a sense of accomplishment from the project.

The local Kumahachi statue connects KAMENOI HOTEL to the local area.
