Inubosaki Lighthouse
This 31-meter-high brick Western-style lighthouse was designed by Englishman Richard Henry Brunton in 1874. It has become a symbol of Choshi sightseeing, and the view that opens up after climbing the 99 spiral stairs is outstanding. Adjacent to the lighthouse is the Inubozaki Lighthouse Museum, where visitors can learn about the history of modern lighthouses. A promenade has been developed, and visitors can enjoy a stroll along the dynamic seashore where the rough waves break on the rocks. It is designated as a Heritage of Industrial Modernization (by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and an Important Cultural Property.
