Gameni

"Gameni" is a representative local dish of Fukuoka, and its name is said to come from the Hakata dialect "gamekurikomu" (meaning to gather together). Another theory is that it originated when soldiers dispatched to Korea during the Bunroku Invasion, which was instigated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, stewed soft-shelled turtles, which were called "dobugame" at the time, with whatever ingredients they had on hand, and ate it, hence the name "gameni."

Grilled curry

There are various theories, but it is said that "yaki curry" was first created at a coffee shop in Mojiko in the 1950s. Yaki curry is curry rice made by putting curry sauce and cheese on top of rice and baking it in an oven.

You can top your bowl with sesame-marinated black fin fish, squid, negitoro (fine tuna green onions), mentaiko (spicy cod roe), whitebait, and salted squid as you like, and enjoy.
