The cherry blossoms at Kaizu Osaki have been selected as one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots.

Approximately 800 gorgeous Yoshino cherry trees, ranging from old cherry trees over 80 years old to young trees handed down to the next generation, stretch for approximately 4km along the shores of Lake Biwa.

In recent years, the best time to see the cherry blossoms is around early April (depending on the climate, etc.), and the area is known as a late-blooming cherry blossom spot in the Kinki region.

Kaizuosaki is also a scenic spot known as one of the eight scenic spots in Lake Biwa, ``Dawn Mist and Kaizuosaki Reef'', with the best reef in Lake Biwa, the blue color of the lake, Chikubu Island visible in the distance,
