Autumn leaves at Takidani Fudo Myooji Temple

Takitani Fudo Myooji is a dojo opened by Kobo Daishi to pray for the security of the nation and the happiness of its people.

It is popularly known as [Ofudo-san of Takidani] by locals.

It is also said to be one of the three great Fudo statues in Japan, and is known as the "bud-sprouting Fudo" because it is believed to be effective against eye diseases.

Many people visit the old wisteria to pray for business success, good fortune, protection from evil, and safe travels.

The bright red autumn leaves and the red torii gate match beautifully.
