A local Kumahachi statue painted by local high school students has been unveiled!

A statue of our founder, Kumahachi Aburaya, dressed in a local design created by a young sensibility, welcomes you in the hotel lobby.

KAMENOI HOTEL nationwide are working as an "art project" to have local high school students paint the brand new "Kumahachi Statue" on canvas in colors typical of the region.

The KAMENOI HOTEL NAGATORO YORII statue of Kumahachi was designed and painted by the art club of Saitama Prefectural Yorii Johoku High School, and returned to the hotel on July 5, 2025. Please see the details of the local design "Kumahachi statue" drawn by a young sensibility.

The 13 club members decorated the area with designs including the Arakawa River, a symbol of the area, and fireworks from the Suitengu Shrine Festival.

When we heard about the project, we all immediately decided to participate.
Up until now, we have mainly been doing individual productions, but this was the first time that all the members of the club worked together to create a piece of work, and it was a very good experience.

I had a particularly hard time with the spray paint.
I failed at first and had to start over from scratch, but the finished statue blended in perfectly with the lobby, and I'm really pleased with it.

In this project, the "Kumahachi statue" in each region will become a new symbol, and it will be an opportunity for customers visiting KAMENOI HOTEL nationwide to discover new charms, and we will aim to deepen the familiarity of the local people as a "hotel in our town".
