● November 7th is the "Maikawa Shishiodori" (Maikawa Deer Dance)
Maikawa Shishiodori

In 1997 (Heisei 9), Iwate designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property, this folk performing art has been passed down by citizens for about 300 years.

● November 14th is "Takkobukuro Kagura"
Takkotai Kagura

In July 2016, Ichinoseki Kagura was designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property. It is said to have started in Bunmei 10 (1916) when the Shugendo Sagami monk of Hachiman Yamajo Gakuin, a Shugendo Sagami-bo of Hachimanzan Jogakuin, dedicated the Hōin Kagura to Hachiman Shrine (Ichinoseki Hagi-so). The Tatsukobukuro Kagura, which has been passed down to this day, developed from the late Edo to Meiji periods based on Hōin Kagura, influenced by yamabushi kagura and other performing arts.

● November 21st is "Michi-no-Eki Genbikei Genmochi Team"
Genpeitai

An attraction featuring a local mochi-making expert. This event allows you to experience mochi-making using steamed glutinous rice and traditional mortar and pestle techniques.

● November 28" Ichinoseki Celebration Mochi Pounding Troupe"

This is another attraction featuring a local mochi-making expert. You can experience making mochi using a mortar and pestle.

Pickup

At Asumi Workshop in Ichinoseki, located about a 6-minute drive from the hotel and about 3 minutes by car from Genbikei, you can experience pottery by hand and electric pottery wheels, as well as authentic pottery classes starting once a month.

The hotel has regularly held art exhibitions, but this month we are hosting a special exhibition showcasing the best works created by our students in the pottery class.

You can view the works in the special space in front of the reception desk on the first floor, so please enjoy the many unique pieces.
