The cherry blossoms at Kaizu Osaki have been selected as one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots.

Kaizu Osaki is a scenic spot that is also known as one of the eight scenic spots of Lake Biwa, ``Dawn Mist and Kaizu Osaki Reef.''

Approximately 800 gorgeous Yoshino cherry trees, ranging from old cherry trees over 80 years old to young trees handed down to the next generation, stretch for approximately 4km along the shores of Lake Biwa.

In recent years, the best time to see the cherry blossoms is around early April (depending on the climate, etc.), and it is known as a late-blooming cherry blossom spot in the Kinki region.
