MOA Museum of Art (surcharge)
This is a substantial art museum with a collection of about 3,500 items, mainly oriental art, including paintings, calligraphy, and crafts. Among the collection are three national treasures: Ogata Korin's "Red and White Plum Blossoms Screen" (open to the public every February), Nonomura Ninsei's "Colored Wisteria Design Tea Jar," "Tekagami," and "Kanbokujo," and 67 items are designated Important Cultural Properties. The golden teahouse, associated with Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and the Noh theater host Noh and Kyogen performances and various events. The building stands on a hilltop with a great view overlooking Atami-shi and Sagami Bay, and below the museum is a 230,000 square meter garden called Zuiunkyo. The tour takes about two hours.

Kinomiya Shrine
A stately shrine building stands surrounded by dense trees. The large camphor tree (a natural monument) behind the shrine is estimated to be over 2,100 years old and is the largest tree in Honshu. The tree is approximately 26m tall and has a trunk circumference of 24m. It is said that if you go around once, you will live one year longer. There are also cafes and snack facilities such as the open tea room "Hoko".

Kiunkaku
This inn, beloved by many famous literary figures from the Taisho to Showa periods, retains its atmosphere as a designated tangible cultural property of Atami-shi. You can tour the room that Dazai Osamu actually used, the Roman-style bath, the carefully maintained gardens, and more.
