A local Kumahachi statue painted by local high school students has been unveiled!

A statue of our founder, Kumahachi Aburaya, dressed in a local design created by a young sensibility, welcomes you in the hotel lobby.

KAMENOI HOTEL nationwide are working as an "art project" to have local high school students paint the brand new "Kumahachi Statue" on canvas in colors typical of the region.

KAMENOI HOTEL ASO 's "Kumahachi Statue" was designed and painted by the art department and calligraphy club of Kumamoto Aso Chuo High School, and returned to the hotel on January 24, 2026. Please see the details of the local design "Kumahachi statue" drawn by a young sensibility.

The vast nature that is the charm of Aso is placed on the entire surface, with Aso mountains and "red cows" around it, and the pedestal is designed with the motif of the crater of Mt. Aso and Nakadake. On the back, the calligraphy department has a large brush letter of "Aso" to create a powerful design.

The unveiling ceremony was a great success! Kumamoto Standing Aso Chuo High School Brass Band Club also participated and enlivened the ceremony with a performance.

KAMENOI HOTEL aims to be an even more appealing "local inn filled with tradition and warmth" by adding the unique value of the area to the spirit of hospitality and innovation that has been passed down since Kumahachi Aburaya 's founding.

In this project, the "Kumahachi statue" in each region will become a new symbol, and it will be an opportunity for customers visiting KAMENOI HOTEL nationwide to discover new charms, and we will aim to deepen the familiarity of the local people as a "hotel in our town".
