Notice of reopening of buffet restaurant on Tuesday, December 17, 2024
The restaurant reopened on December 17, 2024.
The new restaurant features wall art that depicts the natural beauty of Aso, as well as wallpaper that incorporates accents of gradations of light and water.
The floors and counters are decorated with a hexagonal design based on the auspicious tortoiseshell motif, in keeping with the name "Kamenoi Hotel," creating a unified look.
The buffet area also features a live kitchen reminiscent of a hearth, and a black granite and white wood design.
The design features a counter that opens up to highlight Kumamoto's traditional crafts, "Higo Temari," and bamboo objects.
The menu features local flavors such as the Aso local dish "Dengaku," spicy lotus root, horse sashimi, red beef bowl, and dumpling soup.
We also offer a lineup of Aso ingredients that allow you to fully enjoy them, including a salad corner where you can enjoy fresh vegetables from "Aso Kura Farm" and sweets made with Abe Farm's "ASO MILK."
In the live kitchen, you can enjoy freshly cooked dishes such as grilled trout and horse meat sushi.
Enjoy the charm of Kumamoto and Aso through the local ingredients and food culture, usinghigh-quality ingredients from Kumamoto and in a live corner inspired by a hearth.

[Takamori Dengaku]
Dengaku, a local delicacy of Takamori-cho in Oku Aso, is a hearth dish in which landlocked salmon, konnyaku, tofu, etc. are coated with a secret miso paste, skewered on bamboo sticks, and grilled over a charcoal fire.
Dengaku" is said to have originated from a custom called "Dengakumai," a dance performed to pray for a good harvest during the rice planting season in the Heian period (794-1185).
It is said that dengaku was introduced to the Takamori area from the neighboring city of Taketa (Oita) and has been consumed in the area for 700 years.
In 1960, the Takamori Dengaku Preservation Society was formed to preserve the traditional culture.
[Aso Farm]
In Aso, surrounded by the natural beauty of Aso, we produce around 20 types of salad vegetables per year.
Although the climate is harsh at an altitude of about 500 to 800 meters, the abundant spring water and temperature differences allow sweet vegetables with little bitterness to grow.
Vegetables grown with groundwater are characterized by their original flavor and sweetness.
[Abe Farm "ASO MILK"]
We are committed to the nature, grasslands, and water of Aso and believe that "raising cattle is raising grass, and raising grass is raising soil."
ASO MILK was born from the desire to deliver freshly squeezed milk in its original delicious flavor.
We offer desserts made with our original brand of milk, the first in Japan to receive the highest three-star rating from the International Taste Institute.
